Darwin 13th August 1968. Few hours fuelling stop on the way back to Singapore (the Captain's wife had arrived in Singapore from UK!) Sorry - can't remember this sparkers name.
Commissioning ceremony 21 January 1967. Commander R J Bates on the dais reads the Commissioning Warrant. Officers L to R: Gunnery Officer Lt J V Kidd, Supply Officer Lt P C D Norman, WEO Lt L E Ayling, TASO Lt R Walker, Corro, SLt R Gainsford, MEO Lt S H Bovey & Assistant Gunnery Officer SLt H J Mitton. The First Lieutenant's left arm, Lt Cdr P J Martin can be seen just behind the Captain.
Farquhar Islands, Indian Ocean 17th September 1968. We stopped here for one day prior to commencing Beira Patrol again on the homeward leg of the Far East deployment. (This short stopover incidentally was a shrewd move by the Captain so that we could keep our Singapore Local Overseas Allowance for another 8 days otherwise it would have stopped when we left Singapore on 9th September 1968).
